Mission
The Society is an educational organization whose purpose is to promote the exchange of ideas and foster multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, and inter-professional scholarship, research, teaching, policy development, professional development, and collegiality among people engaged in all of the endeavors related to clinical and academic bioethics and the health-related humanities.
Strategic Priorities
Annual Meeting
Continue to meet the needs of attendees in both the health humanities and bioethics.
Ethics Consultation Resources
Support the goals of health care ethics consultation and the development of health care ethics consultants' capabilities.
Healthcare Ethics Consultant Certification
Develop a credible, defensible process to measure the knowledge and skills of entry-level healthcare ethics consultants.
Health Humanities
Ensure that health humanities will remain core to our mission and consider ways to better serve our members.
Governance and Leadership
Ensure optimal structures and processes for the Nominating Committee that will support the election of the best-qualified candidates to serve on the board of directors.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Define diversity, equity, and inclusion goals for ASBH as an organization and how those values will be reflected through ASBH programs.
