ASBH Strategic Priorities and Initiatives
The Society is an educational organization whose purpose is to promote the exchange of ideas and foster multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, and inter-professional scholarship, research, teaching, policy development, professional development, and collegiality among people engaged in all of the endeavors related to clinical and academic bioethics and the health-related humanities.
Continue to meet the needs of attendees in both the health humanities and bioethics.
Ethics Consultation Resources
Support the goals of health care ethics consultation and the development of health care ethics consultants' capabilities.
Health Care Ethics Consultation (HCEC) Certification
Develop a credible, defensible process to measure the knowledge and skills of entry-level HCE consultants.
Ensure that health humanities will remain core to our mission and consider ways to better serve our members.
Nominating Process and Structure
Ensure optimal structures and processes for the Nominating Committee that will support the election of the best-qualified candidates to serve on the board of directors.
Diversity and Inclusion
Identify impact ASBH will have on increasing racial and ethnic diversity within the professions (Health-related Humanities, Academic Bioethics, and Health Care Ethics Consultation) that would, in turn, lead to racial and ethnic diversity of ASBH membership.
